Celebrate with Dr. Brown’s as he embraces’ 19 years of Pastorate at Great Commission Baptist Church. Shape Up Summer Youth Program
Shape up is a Summer Youth Program for ages 5-13 here at GCBC, Monday—Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Early registration starts Today through Sunday, May 13th. During this time you will receive a $35.00 discount on your registration fee. We are also looking for members 18 years old or older that love working with children, are dependable, and are in need of a summer job. Job posting is located on the Bulletin Boards. The PAC celebrates our Pastor’s Birthday by setting aside the month of May. Each Sunday during this month, there will be Gift Boxes located at each Exit Door. The Boxes are to bless our Pastor with Birthday Cards, Words of Encouragement Cards, and Gift Cards; also, you may bless Pastor with what God lays on your heart. You can also mail your cards to the Church in the attention of Dr. Douglas E. Brown.

Real Talk

Suicide Intervention
Are you ready, willing, and able to provide first aid for someone in need of suicide intervention? Attend a two-day suicide first aid training on Friday, May 18th and Saturday, May 19th at the Naval Air Station, Fort Worth, Texas. You must be able to attend both days from 8:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m. The cost is free. For a registration form and more information, contact Sis. Sarolyn Morgan at 817-455-1163. |
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School will have sign ups through the month of May. A sign up table will be located in the Mall Hallway after morning service, and on Wednesday nights following Bible Study in the Chapel Foyer. You can also sign up online. Volunteers are still needed, please sign up in the Mall Hallway.
Parent’s Night Out
SIE is hosting Parent’s Night Out on Friday, May 18th from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Age range is walking to 12 years old. A light snack will be served and a donation of $5 per child is due at drop off. |
Senior Lock-In
All Seniors, come and experience the game of LIFE at the Senior Lock-In. It will be a night of fun, food, games, and prizes. It will be held at GCBC on Friday, May 18th from 10:00 p.m.—7:00 a.m. Sign up is required to attend. Please sign up on Sundays after morning worship in the Mall Hallway and Wednesdays after Bible Study, until Sunday, April 29th. For more information, contact Sis. NSBE Jr. Chapter
Attention all students ages 10-18 years of age. On Saturday, May 19th our NSBE Jr. Chapter will be taking a trip to the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Plant. We will take a tour, participate in some fun activities, and be provided lunch. Please sign-up in the Gym after morning worship. Transportation will be provided. For more information, contact Bro. Church Closing
The church will be closed Monday, May 28th in observance of Memorial Day. All meetings are cancelled due to the holiday.
2012 Women’s Ministry Conference
Women and young women mark your calendar for our Women’s Ministry Conference on Saturday, July 21st from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The cost is $20 plus $5 for a Jason’s Deli boxed lunch! Our theme is “Iron Sharpens Iron – A Beautiful You! Discover how beauty is more than just skin deep, there’s more to you – you want to be beautiful inside and out, spiritually and physically! We’ll have great vendors again this year! Sign up and pay your $20 registration fee on the first Sunday of every month after morning worship in the Foyer through June 6th. This year there is no payment plan!

Youth and Young Adult Musicians

Father & Daughter Dance
Attention all Fathers and Daughters ages 8-18. The dance will be held on Friday, June 15th from 7:00 p.m.—11:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 per person and additional tickets for each additional daughter can be purchased for $5 each in the Foyer. We are asking for all fathers and father-figures to please participate to assure that all of our youth can have an escort for this event. The attire is casual. For more information, contact Sis. Recreation Ministry
Recreation Ministry presents “Next Level Performance Basketball Camp with Coach Olivia Pyburn and Summercreek Middle School Athletic Coordinators for students 5th—12th grades. Cost is $50 per student (which includes a Camp T-shirt). Dates are Monday, June 4th—Thursday, June 7th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, contact Rev.
